What is the point of training a pet? The exercises taught, if they are practiced until the dog will obey a command instantly, can avert a fight, prevent a dogʼs death by getting hit by a car, or running away and getting lost.
The exercises have to be taught firmly, taught thoroughly and practiced. The aim is to make the dog an acceptable citizen, kept under control and with the teaching he has had, also able to enjoy a life that might not be open to him if untrained and he isnʼt fit to take around. If more people trained their dogs, there would be far fewer abandoned dogs, and some that are put down need not have been; they could have been trained. a well trained pet is a happy pet.
